A-Mythical is a new anthology on social justice and gender in Jewish sources (חז”ל).

The Editors are: Henriette Dahan Kalev, Dafna Horev-Betzalel, Eli Bareket, Avigdor Shinan. The book was published this year (September, 2011) at Yedioth Aharonoth Books. It is dedicated to a colleague of mine Galit Saada Offir.

Among the writers are Yaffa Benaia, Tobal Mashiach, Almog Behar, Bracha Serri, Shva Salhoov, Lea Shakdiel, Mati Shemoelof,  Tamar Bitton, Ester Eilam, Ester Shkalim, Roni Someck, Dafna Horev and I.

My work of this anthology deals with the place of the Biblical Mother Rachel. According to the Midrash, Rachel gave her sister Lea the sings she and Jacob had and was hiding under their bed so Jacob will think Lea was her.

I examine the question of social justice and feminism by asking if it is as easy for a woman to be righteous as it is for a man.

The anthology has not yet been translated to English, but it is recommended for those who are interested in feminism, Bible and Social Justice, and can read Hebrew.
